Danish Kaneria Charges Shahid Afridi For Trying To Force Him To Convert Into Islam

ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 Pakistani former spinner Danish Kaneria Made Bold Revelation On Shahid Afridi. Danish says, “My Sanatana Dharma is everything to me” but Shahid Afridi attempts to change me into Islam during the playing days.

Newly, Danish Kaneria spoke about the discrimination problem faced by the other players during his playing days for being a Hindu.

He mainly accused former ex-captain Shahid Afridi of forcing him to convert to Islam. Also, he revealed that two of his fellow Pakistani players Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar helped me and the rest of the others created various troubles.

Danish Kaneria Career History

In 2000, the 42-year-old Kaneria made his international debut and then finished his career as the highest wicket-taking spinner in Pakistan. He as a wrist spinner took 261 scalps at 34.79 over 5-wicket hauls and some are 10-wicket hauls in 61 tests.

Danish is the 4th highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in the red-ball format. The career of Danish was spoiled with controversies.

In an interview with Aaj Tak channel, Danish Kaneria shares the experience of his career.

“My career was going really well, and I was playing County cricket as well. Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar were the only people who supported me. Shahid Afridi troubled me a lot. Afridi and others wouldn’t eat with me. Shahid Afridi tried forcing me to convert to Islam.”

Also, he added the information about Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) charging various players with stop-fixing. At that moment because of the religion, he doesn’t get any support from the officials.

He said, “I was charged with spot-fixing during my county stint. I admitted that I only met a bookie; that was about it. But they pressured me to accept the charges. The PCB didn’t support me because I am a Hindu. They were scared that if I continued to play, I would break their records.”

He has been smashed by a particular section of Pakistanis for his Hindi religion. Danish underlined that he would continue to increase his voice once there is wrong. Also, he got advice that his religion will forever be at the front. In the interview video, he elaborated:

“For me, my Sanatana Dharma is above everything. I am not saying anything wrong or making things up. I will raise my voice if anything wrong happens. There are a number of cases in Pakistan like these that have not even been reported. The situation is right in front of the whole world. I will always fight for my Hindu community.”
