Dinesh Karthik Has Announced His Retirement After IPL 2024 Leaves Fans in Tears: Recently, after RCB reached to playoffs, it has been eliminated by losing the match by 4 wickets in the Eliminator match with RR.

After RCB bowed out of the competition, RCB wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik said goodbye to the Indian Premier League and international career.

RCB players also gave Karthik a guard of honor after the team’s elimination from the tournament, before sharing a beautiful video in which Karthik’s wife Deepika Pallikal was also interviewed.

Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper batter has retired from the IPL and from international career after RCB has bowed out from IPL 2024 in the eliminator match with RR.

In 2011, Dinesh joined Kings XI Punjab and became the second most expensive player. The ace cricketer has set many records in his domestic and international career.

In the below video posted by RCB’s social media handles, Virat Kohli said,

“Our performance in the first half of the season was under-par. The standards that we have as cricketers, we were not living up to them. And then, we just started expressing ourselves, started playing for our self-respect, and then the confidence came back.”

“The way we turned things around and qualified was truly special, something that I will always cherish and remember because it took a lot of character and heart from each member of the team, something that we can be proud of. Eventually, we played how we wanted to play,” he added.

“Outstanding talent, brilliant batter to watch, and my first impression and present-day impression are not far apart. Just that he has become wiser and calmed down a lot.”

Virat Kohli also lauded Dinesh Karthik by remembering the memories,

“Off the field, I have had some nice and interesting conversations with him. He is a wise man and has great knowledge about a lot of things, not just cricket. I have thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him.

Even in that phase in 2022 when I did not have a great IPL season, I was struggling for confidence, he sat me down a couple of times and gave me a very honest explanation of how he saw things and maybe I am not able to see them myself,”

Dinesh Karthik speaking in that interview said,

“Things turned around, winning six out of six. We felt like this was going to be the year. But there’s no fairytale ending in sport. There’s always a hard day, one day which doesn’t go your way. Today was the day.”

Later in the video, Karthik’s wife Deepika Pallikal shared some memorable moments from the cricketer’s career, and she urged Karthik to spend more time with her and their children now that he is retiring from the game.
