A young cricketer has crossed limits in his quest to have a luxury lifestyle. At one place he pretended to be an IPS officer and another time he committed fraud by impersonating another cricketer. He spent a huge amount on luxury hotels. Team India cricketer Rishabh Pant is one of his victims. Finally, a former cricketer was caught by the Delhi Police while fleeing the country.

The police were shocked to see his criminal history which was known during the investigation. The Delhi police arrested a young former cricketer Mrinank Singh in the case of defrauding luxury hotels. Mrinank played for the state’s U-19 team and he is from Faridabad in Haryana. After that, he quit the game and began cheating others. From 2014-2018, he cheated many women and international brands by pretending to play for an IPL team.

In 2022, Mrinank stayed in a popular 5-star hotel in Delhi for a week. There he introduced himself as a famous cricketer. Later he vacated the hotel without paying the ball Rs 5.53 lakhs. He claimed that the sponsor company would pay the bill when the management questions.

Believing his words, the hotel staff shared their bank details. Later, he sent a fake transaction of Rs 2 lakhs. After realising that they were cheated, the hotel management filed a case with the Delhi police in August last year.

The Delhi police issued a non-bailable warrant and a lookout circular on him. In this order, when Mrinank arrived at the Delhi airport to fly to Hong Kong on December 25, the immigration department detained him. Even there, he tried to pose as a senior IPS officer. Finally, the immigration officials handed him over to the Delhi police.

When Mrinank was interrogated, other frauds were unveiled. Mrinank is known to have cheated many hotels and resorts by pretending to be a DGP officer of Karnataka. Earlier, the police found that he had cheated DC captain Rishabh Pant as well.

Mrinank lured Pant by saying that he was dealing in luxury products and selling them at a low price. It is known that between 2020 and 21, Rs 1.63 crore was taken from him. As a result, the police revealed that Pant had filed a complaint against him last year.
