Download & Install Minecraft on Windows 11/ Windows 10 – Paid/Free

You have the option to decide which version of Minecraft you would want to download on your PC. Minecraft offers two basic editions from which you can choose which suits you best. The common editions are –

  • Java Edition
  • Bedrock edition

Minecraft Java Edition

The Minecraft Java Edition is the oldest version available for downloads, present on all the major platforms such as macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows. If you install this edition, you are offered unlimited modding capabilities, better graphics, and more servers. The only disadvantage of this version is that you can’t play it on consoles, mobile devices, or other similar devices. However, you are allowed to cross-play with all other players available online across different platforms.

Minecraft Bedrock Edition

The newer Bedrock Edition is an advanced version of the game and is mostly known as “Minecraft” for Windows 10. Most players prefer this version of the game because it can connect to players across multiple operating systems like Microsoft’s Windows and Xbox, iOS, Android, etc. Talking about performance or the load time, it still has an edge over the older Java edition as it does not have any spectator or hardware mode. If you wish to create customized mods, you would have to stick to the Java edition as Bedrock doesn’t offer any.

We now are aware of some of the basic differences between the different editions, you can choose the preferred version wisely. It is recommended to discuss among your friends or research more about the same if you are unable to decide solely. Taking a decision is necessary as you won’t be able to cross-play between the two editions.
