Irfan Pathan Criticized About New York Pitch After IND vs IRE Match: On June 5, Wednesday, the India vs Ireland match was held at Nassau County International Stadium, NewYork.

Irfan Pathan has amped up the criticism on the New York pitch after India played the game against Ireland.

‘Not Safe for Players’: Irfan Pathan About NewYork Pitch

T20 World Cup has been started on June 1st and it is going to end on June 29. In this T20 World Cup for the first time, 20 teams are participating and India has opened its account by winning the first game against Ireland in this T20 World Cup.

But many of them were not satisfied with the pitch and in that one of them was Irfan Pathan. After the game against Ireland, Irfan Pathan criticized the New York Pitch.

Irfan Pathan speaking on Star Sports, said,

“Look, we definitely want to promote cricket in America, but this pitch is not safe for players. If we had a pitch like this in India, a match would never be played there again for a very long time.”

“This pitch is not good. I mean, we are talking about the World Cup here, not even a bilateral series,” he added.

Also after the India vs Ireland match, Michael Vaughan posted on X that,

“Shocking surface.” He later added, “Trying to sell the game in the States is great… love it, but for players to have to play on this substandard surface in New York is unacceptable. You work so hard to make it to the World Cup, then have to play on this.”

“I’ve got to say that is not a good surface to play an international match on,” said former England coach Andy Flower on ESPNCricinfo. “It is bordering on dangerous.

You see the ball bouncing on a length both ways so skidding low occasion but in the main bouncing unusually high and striking people on thumb, gloves, and helmet and making life very very difficult for any batsman,” he said.

Ireland will take on Canada next in New York on June 7 and we will see how the pitch works in Pakistan’s match with India.
