Ishan Kishan ordered to play Ranji Trophy for India comeback as BCCI doesn’t want Rahul as Keeper in Tests

Former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran informed to Cricbuzz that Ishan Kishan has been training at the Kiran More Academy in Baroda, where he has the company of Pandya brothers.

Ishan Kishan hasn’t been part of the competitive cricket from third T20I against Australia in Guwahati on November 28, 2023. In that particular match, he got out for a duck. Ishan was selected for the India’s T20I and Test vs South Africa, but he didn’t get a chance to play in any of the two T20Is.

Ishan was expected to get picked in the playing XI for 2 Tests, but before the start of the Boxing Day Test in Cape Town, he ruled out due to personal reasons.

After India’s win in the Vizag Test against England on Monday, head coach Rahul Dravid was asked about the Ishan’s presence in team, to which he said, “I just don’t want to go on labouring about Ishan Kishan point. Whenever he is ready, I didn’t say he has to play domestic cricket; I said whenever he is ready, he needs to play some cricket and come back. The choice is his. We are not forcing him to do anything. We are in touch with him.”

“We know what it is. He hasn’t yet started playing, right? At the moment, it’s not something that we would consider. He is maybe not ready. He decided when he wants to be ready.”

In another update, it has been reported that Ishan will miss Jharkhand’s Ranj Trophy against Haryana, which is set to begin on February 9, 2024 at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur.
