‘Let your bat do the talking’: Mohammad Kaif after KL Rahul’s historic Century at Centurion

India vs South Africa 1st Test match: KL Rahul showed an impressive performance during the Test match at Centurion and hit a century to make India score 245 runs. After his historic century, many trolls are circulating on social media and praising him. After those appreciations, Rahul shared his opinion on criticism and trolls.

The 31-year-old wicketkeeper cum batter said that “One who is hailing me today was abusing me a few months back”. He faced criticism for too long after his injury. He returned to the game in the Asia Cup and went on to play in the World Cup. In the ongoing Test series against South Africa, he slam his eighth Test century.

From losing his place in the side to comeback and hit a century on one of the toughest conditions for batting, Rahul showed exactly why he is always rated high. Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif reacted to Rahul’s performance.

“It’s not easy to hit a century at No.6. Very difficult conditions, overcast conditions. It was a wet pitch, the ball was moving around. India was in a spot of bother. But KL Rahul stood there. What an inning. It’s a historic knock. Nobody will be able to forget. Keep your mouth shut and let your bat do the talking, that’s what you have done well. The game was slipping away. India was in a lot of trouble. This historic knock had patience, it had class. It was a proper Test knock. Well done, KL Rahul,” Kaif said in a video posted on his X handle.

Meanwhile, Rahul also became the first overseas batter to score more than a century at Centurion. During his innings, he slammed 14 fours and four sixes. Even Sachin Tendulkar praised his innings on social media.

Rahul’s innings was laced with 14 boundaries. Thus he became the third Indian after Tendulkar and Kohli to score multiple Test centuries in South Africa. KL Rahul’s century was matched by Dean Elgar who is playing in his last series.
