Not Sanju Samson! 33-Year-Old Batter is going to Lead Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024: Former Indian Pacer who is the winner of the 2011 ODI World Cup, Sreesanth slams Sanju Samson for his captaincy and Sreesanth wants to replace 33-Year-Old Batter Jos Buttler to lead Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024.

Samson was appointed as a skipper in the 2021 season of the IPL, and in the last three editions he had taken care of the team in 45 matches. Under his captaincy, RR qualified for the final in 2021 but failed to win the title.

According to Sreesanth, he needs a consistent and intensified captain for the Rajasthan Royals. Rather than having a captain who performs well once in a blue moon, it’s better to be a proven leader buttler, as he won the T20 WC title.

Listen to his opinion about the Rajasthan Royals skipper in his own words. He spoke to Sprotskreeda, and said,

“Mere taraf se Rajasthan Royals ko pura system, especially the players in between them, should be changed because, I don’t know, when I played for Rajasthan Royals, they had complete management and Rahul (Dravid) Bhai was the captain.

Rahul Dravid had a very clear vision and clear tactics, and he was one of the best captains I have played with. So Sanju, being the captain, first of all, has to take the leadership very seriously. Make Buttler the captain, at least he has won a (T20) World Cup.

This time (in the ODI World Cup 2023) he didn’t do well, but I think someone else can be consistent.

You need a captain like Rohit (Sharma) who has intensity and consistency or somebody who is consistently winning matches for the team, or as a captain, you need a captain who will win matches for you.

If not every match, if not every three or four games, because IPL is a big tournament, lots of matches. You can’t rely on somebody who comes out once in a blue moon and scores runs.”
