Retirement is the Right Decision at the Right Time: Rob Key About James

Anderson is the best and highest wicket-taker of the present bowlers in Test Cricket. Anderson confirmed on Saturday that he is going to take a rest from the test cricket after playing the first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Lord’s.

Anderson started his debut at Lord’s in 2003, and now he is going to retire from his career at the same place. Rob Key on a social media platform announced that Anderson’s decision was the right decision at the right time. Rob told to BBC Test Match Special County Cricket podcast that,

“We said ‘We think it’s time for us to move on, that we have to start looking towards the future’.” “This is the right decision and this is the right time. Hopefully, he gets a fantastic end at Lord’s.”

“We had a conversation for about an hour and a half, which Baz led. I don’t think Jimmy was expecting it, but I don’t think it was completely unexpected.”

Anderson Wrote that,

“I’m going to miss walking out for England so much. But I know the time is right to step aside and let others realize their dreams just like I got to because there is no greater feeling,”

Also  “Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years, it’s always meant a lot, even if my face often doesn’t show it. See you at the Test.”

“We felt it was right that Jimmy and the public had the opportunity to say goodbye. We didn’t impress upon him that he needed to make the decision there and then. Not so long ago he decided the Lord’s game would be his last.”

England’s first match of a three-Test series against the Caribbean side takes place from July 10-14.
