Sanjay Manjrekar Feels Shreyas Iyer To be in No.3 in Third T20I Match: Many cricketers were shocked to see India playing XI. In the 2nd T20I match in the three-match series between India and South Africa, unfortunately, even though India played well, it lost the match against SA.

Also, Shreyas Iyer didn’t get a chance to play in the second T20I match. Instead, Tilak Varma batted in No.3 and scored 29 off 20 deliveries. But Sanjay Majrekar believes that team India should consider Shreyas Iyer in No.3 at least in the third T20I match against SA as it is must must-win game for India.

As the second T20I match of IND vs SA, India lost the match and it became 1-0. So, if India wants to win the match against SA in the third T20I, Sanjay has an opinion that Shreyas Iyer should be in the third position.

Because Manjrekar has an opinion that Tilak was not one of the top contenders for that spot on the road of the T20 World Cup 2024. So, when Manjrekar shared his opinion with ESPNcricinfo after losing a five-wicket in the second T20I said,

“I would like to see Shreyas Iyer at No. 3. Tilak Varma—I don’t know how viable he’s going to be a No. 3 in the long run. So, might as well have a look at Shreyas Iyer because there’s going to be another option for a No. 3 later on.”

Even he said that he didn’t expect Ruturaj to replace Jaiswal or Gill in the third T20I.

“Considering that both Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal got out early, I am sure they’ll get another match. That’s how the team management has always thought about giving a decent run to any player.

I know there is just one match left, but I’ll be surprised to see Ruturaj Gaikwad coming in.”

“With Kuldeep Yadav, you know what to expect. So maybe Bishnoi to see how he stands up to more scrutiny and challenging conditions like we had when they bowled second,” he even added.
