Statue of Liberty with bat Ad Creates World Cup buzz in New York

The ninth edition of the mega T20 World Cup 2024 event is going on in the USA and Caribbean Islands. This is the first time for the United States to be hosting a cricket World Cup and it looks like they want to leave no stone unturned in its advertisement.

The New York Times, one of the biggest daily newspapers in the country, featured an ad displaying the iconic Statue of Liberty holding a cricket bat to attract the attention of the locals for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

“Cricket Has Arrived.” and “Come say hi” are the words that were featured in a full-page advertisement for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the New York Times on June 2. The ad, depicting the Statue of Liberty holding a cricket bat, aimed to catch the attention of Americans and raise awareness about the prestigious T20 cricket event, which, for the first time in history, the USA is co-hosting alongside the West Indies.

ICC & USA Cricket Go All In To Promote Cricket In Country

Both the ICC and USA Cricket have been actively promoting the event to native sports enthusiasts, who have typically been more inclined towards American sports like baseball. Notably, this comes after the iconic Rockefeller Centre building in New York City was illuminated with a captivating projection show, showcasing images of all 20 captains on the eve of the tournaments. Fans gathered around the building, eagerly snapping photos with their mobile phones.
