ICC T20I Player Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav Retains Top Place, Babar Azam Moves to 4th Rank
ICC Men’s T20I Rankings: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has climbed to the number 4 position in the latest ICC T20I rankings, which was revealed on May 1. Babar climbed up one position after his brilliant batting performance in the recently finished T20I series against New Zealand. He scored 125 runs at an average of 31 and a strike rate of 138 despite the series ending in a 2-2 tie.
Babar Azam, who was the former World’s no.1 T20I batter since Suryakumar Yadav snatched that away from him last year, has 763 rating points, 98 fewer points than Suryakumar Yadav. He began slowly but then scored a match-winning knock of 69 runs in the last T20I and helped his team level the series.
England’s star batter Phil Salt, who has performed well for KKR this season, is lying in the second position and has 802 rating points, which is 18 more than Mohammed Rizwan, who is lying in the 3rd position.

Babar Azam has climbed to the No.4 position and has replaced South Africa’s Aiden Markram, who has slipped to the 5th position. Babar’s teammate Fakhar Zaman has also improved his rankings as he moved 10 places and is now lying at the 62nd position after scoring 105 runs in the T20I series against New Zealand.
New Zealand’s Tim Seifert grabbed all the eyeballs as he climbed to 7 places after scoring 85 runs and a strike rate of 144.06 in the T20I series against Pakistan.
Both Pakistan and New Zealand bowlers improved their rankings after this series as pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi climbed to 3 places and is currently lying in the 14th position after taking 8 wickets in the 4 matches that he played against New Zealand.
