Swapnil Breaks Down After Recalling His Auction Day Ahead of CSK vs RCB: On May 19, 2024, Saturday, Royal Challengers Banglore and Chennai Super Kings had a clash against each other and RCB took a tremendous win against CSK.

RCB won the match mainly by spinners in the second half and in that, Swapnil is also one. Swapnil was taken by RCB in the auction for Rs. 20 Lakhs.

Swapnil says that he wanted to quit cricket if he was unpicked in the auction.

In the recent, RCB win the whole team put an effort into making RCB win and everyone had a different story, Swapnil who took six wickets from six games in the IPL 2024 is also one.

Swapnil made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 2016 edition against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In the previous edition, he was picked by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. He remained wicketless there as well and bowled just two overs.

But this time, he showed his level by taking six wickets from six games. At present, the economy rate is 8.77 runs per over for Swapnil.

Rae Bareilly-born spinner Swapnil in a video posted by the franchise said that,

“The day of the auction, I was traveling to Dehradun for a Ranji game, and we landed somewhere around 7-8 PM. The last round of IPL auction was going on, and nothing had happened till that time.

I frankly thought to myself, it’s done. Thank you. I will play the ongoing season (Ranji), and if needed the next one and call it quits because I do not want to play all my life, ‘Duniya jeetene ke liya aur bhi cheeze hain’, (there are a lot of other things I can do to be successful).

I was very disappointed. But when the moment my family called, we broke down. Not many know how much of an emotional journey it was… That was it,” he added.
