Virat Kohli Fans Trend “Boycott Dainik Jagran” For Negative Article on Indian Cricketer

On Monday (30th October 2023), the Virat Kohli supporters slammed the Dainik Jagran media for writing and printing articles comparing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on their different approaches to cricket. Kohli fans boycotted Dainik Jagran’s media and burned their newspaper.

In a Hindi newspaper named Dainik Jagran, the article titled “Shatak Par Ravaiyaa alag alag”, authored by Abhishek Tripathi compared the batting styles and mindsets of Virat and Rohit Sharma. Even though it was an analysis, it had few critical remarks about Kohil’s approach that left his fans unsatisfied.

The controversial article is about differentiating the approaches of Virat and Rohit in terms of batting. The journalist accused the Delhi-born cricketer of prioritizing personal milestones over team success and said Virat was more concentrated on achieving centuries and individual records in the ODI World Cup 2023.

This assessment comes as Virat is performing well in the recent World Cup with 354 runs in 6 matches that can include one century and three half-centuries. The article concluded that Virat was more focused on Centuries, but Rohit was focused on big shots.

This controversial article didn’t sit well with the Virat’s fans. His supporters were quick to react to the critical remarks made by Indian Newspaper. The response was a protest that erupted on social media using #Boycott Dainik Jagran to show their disappointment.
