IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli and Delhi Capitals (DC) bowler Ishant Sharma engaged in a funny banter much like their interaction during the first innings of the RCB vs DC clash. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted the clash on Sunday, May 12. The duo have played for Delhi in the domestic circuit in the past and shared the dressing room for a while in national colors across formats.

Ishant Sharma came out to bat as the final player for Delhi after their 9th wicket fell in the 18th over. Right as the tail-ender was about to reach the crease, he was greeted by Virat Kohli.

The right-handed batter clearly remembered Ishant Sharma’s send-off after dismissing him in the first innings. Kohli nudged him and laughed at him as he was approaching the crease.

The duo chatted along constantly, in good spirit, of course, across the final set of overs with Kohli fielding close to the batter. Check out the fun interaction bordering on sweet revenge here:

Ishant Sharma remained not out on zero after facing 4 balls as Delhi Capitals were bundled out for 140 while trying to chase the 188-run target by RCB.

The Delhi mates would have a bit of a fun tussle as Kohli would hit Ishant for a boundary and a six and both men tried to sledge each other most funnily. Ishant would have the last laugh in the end as he dismissed Kohli, who walked away with a smile on his face.

Ishant would give Virat Kohli a friendly send-off, and the star batter seemed like he was waiting for the opportunity to get some sweet revenge in the second innings.

Kohli was seen laughing as Ishant entered the pitch to bat and the RCB star was applauding him both men had another banter. He was also seen funnily instructing Lockie Ferguson to target the pacer’s ribs as the RCB star savoured the whole episode with his Delhi mate.

How did RCB vs DC Match Unravel?

The match between Delhi and Bengaluru was a must-win for both teams. RCB were put into bat and were in a bit of trouble when both Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli were dismissed.

However, Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks would stitch together an important partnership as the Indian batter scored his 5th fifty of the tournament. A cameo from Cameron Green would ensure RCB got to 187 runs in the end.

The DC response was left in shambles as they would lose 4 wickets in the powerplay, including the unfortunate run-out of Jake Fraser-McGurk. Axar Patel offered some resistance with 57. However, the Delhi stand-in skipper had no support from the other end as DC were bundled out for 140 in the end.

After the win, RCB now set up a mega clash with their rivals CSK on May 18 in Bengaluru. DC now travel to Lucknow next for their final game against LSG on May 14.
