Graeme Swann Praises Batter’s Approach in Ranchi: After a string of failures in the ongoing test series, Root scored fifty in his 61st test to take his team from trouble in the fourth match held in Ranchi.

Heaping praise on Joe Root, Graeme Swann said that star-batter Joe Root means business against India in the fourth Test of their five-match series at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi.

In the ENG vs IND five-match test series, England won the first match and then they immediately lost the next two matches, so on saving their team Joe Roots showed a ‘Bazball’ approach on day 1 to register fifty and saved his team to win.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Swann said Root means business in Ranchi,

“The most uncharacteristic thing for me with Joe is the lack of a big score so far in this series. He’s such a good player. We’re so used to him scoring a big century early on in a series – that’s not happened and it brings pressure with it.”

Swan also added by saying that,

“He’s batting today like he means business. He realises he is England’s major hope to post a decent first-innings total. It won’t be a classic Bazball-type inning on this pitch. He’ll play straight and he’ll be very patient.”
