BCCI Declares Easwaran Lead India A Squad As Captain for England Series: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has newly released the names of the India A squad for a 2-day warm-up match and the first multi-day game against the England Lions.

Abhimanyu Easwaran, who was earlier part of the senior team during the red-ball leg of the South Africa tour, has been selected to lead the side. In addition, KS Bharat, who was part of the test team in Rainbow Nation, was also taken into consideration in the squad as a wicket-keeper batter. All About BCCI Announcement about England Series

On Saturday, a BCCI mentioned in the press release, “The tour will begin with a two-day warm-up game, starting on January 12, 2024, and will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium Ground ‘B,’ Ahmedabad. The first four-day match, commencing on January 17, 2024, will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad“.

Abhimanyu Easwaran, a fortunate performer from Bengal, has been appointed as the captain of the Indian Test squad. The squad includes expert players like Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, and Pradosh Paul, who are all competing for a spot in the middle-order of the Indian Test side.

Sudharsan and Patidar created their One Day International debuts in South Africa, while Pradosh showcased his skills during the India A versus South Africa A red-ball match.

Mo Bobat, who is an England men’s performance director expressed that, “Playing a series in India at any level is a challenge to get excited about, it’s one of the truest tests for any cricketer. It’s great that our Lions team can experience that challenge and have the opportunity to showcase their skills in those conditions”.

“The squad has a strong core of players in it that were out in Abu Dhabi recently for the training camp, with some of those players already selected into the Test squad. There’s also a return for some more experienced players which aligns with supporting England’s more immediate needs,” he stated further.
