Daryl Mitchell Says “A Big Paycheck Moment That Will Stay With Us Forever”: As we all know, Daryl Mitchell has been sold for Rs.14 crore by Chennai Super Kings, during the IPL Auction 2024.

And with that, he became the second most expensive Black Caps, that ever has purchased in the history of IPL. He says that he has a life-changing paycheck in the auction 2024, in Dubai on Tuesday.

When New Zealand Cricketer, Daryl Mitchell was purchased for Rs. 14 Crore by Chennai Super Kings, during the IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai. He was wrapping presents for his daughter’s birthday at home.

When he suddenly saw his name on the screen, his heartbeat increased and all the family members kept their chores that they were doing aside and stuck to the television.

And this 32-year-old secured a life-changing paycheck in the Auction, which is an equal level with Kane Williamson who was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2022 for Rs. 15 Crore. According to the Local media reports,

Mitchell said that” “It was a pretty special night for us as a family, sitting here with my wife watching the whole auction,”

“To see your name come up and then to go through that whole experience is something that will stick with us for the rest of our lives.”

All of this happened because of his exciting performance at the World Cup 2023. Even though he played IPl previously, for Rajasthan Royals in 2022.

He also says, “(Elder daughter) Addie’s birthday today (Wednesday), so there was a bit of wrapping up presents and stuff like that while the auction was going on. At the auction, you don’t quite know exactly when you’re going to come up on the list.

“So yeah, I guess we were just trying to keep ourselves busy and watching it, and then, when it popped up, I guess you end up being glued to the screen to see what happens.”

He concluded by saying that this amount will help to set up his family in many ways.

“Your heart starts to pump a little bit, as you see the paddles going up,”

“But having been through the auction before and going unsold, it was a pretty special night last night to experience that.”

“It’s my oldest daughter’s fifth birthday today (Wednesday), so I got her a pretty good present waking up. Not that she understands what’s going on, but … it will help us set up the family in many ways.

“So they (the two daughters) can grow up and enjoy the things they love, and for me, that’s the cool thing about it, and they are the reason why you do all this.”
