Bumrah’s killer yorker became the talk of the cricketing world, and Waqar Younis’ praise for the Indian speedster has only added to the buzz. After knowing about the compliments showered upon him by the former Pakistani cricketer, Bumrah couldn’t contain his excitement and his reaction was invaluable.

“I don’t look at numbers. If you think about numbers there is a lot of pressure. I’m very happy that we won and contributed to that. As a youngster that [Yorker] was the first delivery I learned in tennis-ball cricket. I used to feel that was the only way to take wickets. Had seen the legends of the game. Waqar, Wasim and even Zaheer Khan,” Bumrah stated.

India’s Star Cricketer Bumrah’s Equation with Indian Skipper

Bumrah, India’s fast-bowling spearhead, returned to the game last August after a long injury discharge. His return has been a huge boost not only for India but also for Rohit Sharm. The Indian skipper also acknowledged Jasprit Bumrah’s contributions to the game.

Bumrah credits his success to his drive and passion for fast bowling, rather than any perceived rivalry or desire to prove himself to England legend James Anderson. He also expressed gratitude towards his mentor and former IPL captain Rohit Sharma for helping him start his journey as a bowler back in 2015.

“Rohit and I discuss everything, about what I am thinking and what he thinks we should do. I always enjoy watching fast bowling, whether it’s the other team or not. If someone is doing well, good on them. Look at the situation, look at the wicket. I look to solve the problem; every wicket is different and I have to use what I have in my armory,” mentioned Bumrah.
