WATCH Indian Player’s Hilarious Take on Chilly Weather in Mohali before IND vs AFG 1st Match: On Thursday, India versus Afghanistan’s 1st T20I match is helding at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

As Indian team is gearing up for their final T20I series with AFG ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. During their practice sessions in Mohali stadium, team india players have faced an unanticipated enemy in the form of cold.

With the fog surrounding most of North India in this winter season, the Indian players at the training sessions are seen in hoodies, thermal jackets, and warmers. These chilling conditions challenged team India before the first T20I India vs Afghanistan match.

Team India Players’ Funny Take on the Cold Weather in Mohali

Right from head coach Rahul Dravid to players Arshdeep, Gill, Kuldeep, Axar, etc. are spotted in many layers of warm clothes and a wollen skullcap to fight the chilling weather. The players have shown gratitude for the gloves and introduced comedy into their chilling and foggy practice atmosphere.

Axar Patel’s Temperature Joke & Other Players Hilarious Comments

In the below-provided video by BCCI on the X platform, left-arm spinner Axar Patel, rubbing his palms to stay hot or warm, asked about the temperature. There one of the staff members replied with “It’s 12 degrees,” to which Axar, seemingly astonished, jokingly remarked, “12? It feels like 6 degrees.”

Arshdeep Singh, who belongs to Punjab, made a lighthearted comment about the cold weather, jokingly blowing air from his mouth in front of the camera. Additionally, Rinku Singh had a different experience, having come from a warm Ranji Trophy game in Kerala.

He described the cold weather in Mohali as extreme in comparison. Initially, Shubman Gill denied the cold, but quickly corrected himself and admitted that the temperature was freezing.

Spinners’ Grip Challenge

Spinner Kuldeep Yadav has spoken about the difficulties faced while gripping the ball because of the cold weather. He stressed that it is very challenging for spinners to open up their bodies and hold a good grip in such conditions.

Even in such weather conditions, Team India gears up for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan with a touch of humor and resilience. The team is no stranger to adapting and overcoming such challenges in the past, and they remain confident in their talent to perform well in the coming T20I series.

Struggles of Coach Rahul Dravid

Coach Rahul Dravid, who hails from Bangalore, stated his conflict with the freezing conditions. Look at this statement of Dravid on chilly weather in Mojali, It’s too cold. I am from Bangalore, and it’s too freezing here,” yet, spinner Washington Sundar, habitual to Chennai’s milder climate, found the weather comparatively simple to deal with.
