Kane Williamson Terrific Catch to Dismiss Rohit Sharma

India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 Semifinal: Kane Williamson took a terrific catch to dismiss Rohit Sharma for 47 runs. The Indian captain Rohit Sharma gave a blazing start as they faced off against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium on Mumbai Today.

In a repeat of the 2019 CWC semifinal match, where New Zealand and India faced off an amazing encounter, the two sides clashed once more in the knockout encounter, but this was in India’s backyard. India won the toss and chose to bat first in Wankhede Stadium, which has been a batting paradise.

Rohit Sharma started in his style and hit two fours and a sixer in the first two overs. Shubman Gill is supporting Rohit on the other side hitting two fours. Sharma then hammered a six and four to Tim Southee, before hitting Boult for another six. India’s score was 47/0 at the end of 5 overs. In the second last over of the powerplay by bowler Tim Southee, Rohit got dismissed trying to hit a straight six.

Rohit Sharma set the tone for India as the hosts raced past 100 in just the 13th over. Shubman Gill got to a 41-ball fifty after Rohit was out. Virat Kohli survived an early LBW appeal before he looked comfortable in the middle as the NZ bowlers struggled for consistency.

India has never defeated New Zealand in an ICC knockout match but Rohit’s dismissal gave them a solid start toward getting one over their familiar flow.
