Pakistan Not Out of World Cup Yet

Pakistan’s World Cup (ODi World Cup 2023) hopes are almost lost. It will be difficult for Pakistan to reach the semis after suffering their fourth defeat in a row. Despite fighting to the end with South Africa, they were victorious.

Pakistan’s story in ODI World Cup 2023 is almost over. Despite fighting to the end with South Africa, Pakistan did not get victory. There is no belief that even if they win the remaining three matches, they will reach the semis. Despite the defeat at one stage against South Africa, Pakistan recovered and fought brilliantly. Defeated by only one wicket. However, the umpire’s decision regarding the last wicket turned out to be negative for Pakistan. Keshav Maharaj, the last batsman, escaped the danger of being dismissed off the bowling of Harris Raouf (45.6th over). When Pak appealed as LB, the umpire declared it not out. Even though Pakistan went to DRS, Keshav was saved by the ‘umpire’s call’. Otherwise Pakistan would have won. Pakistan was disappointed when the ‘umpire’s call’ decision did not go in their favour. Pakistan captain Babar Azam responded to this after the match.

“We came very close to winning the match. But, the finish was not done properly. This defeat made the team very disappointed. We scored 15 runs less in batting. But, the way the bowlers have recovered is amazing. But, their struggle was not enough. Unfortunately the umpiring decisions did not go in our favour. However, this is all part of the game. Even after taking DRS, the result did not change favourably. If the umpire had given an out, it would have been a favor for us. But, that didn’t happen. If we had won this match, we would have been in the semis race. We will try our best in the next three matches and win. After all the matches, we will know where we are,” Babar said.

This is Pakistan’s fourth defeat in a row. Earlier it suffered defeats against India, Australia and Afghanistan. Currently, Pakistan has only four points in its account. With two wins and four losses, Pak Pointa continues at the sixth position in the table. Pakistan is scheduled to face Bangladesh (October 31), New Zealand (November 4) and England (November 11).
