Rishabh Pant Really Missed Dressing Team Fun with Indain Teammates During Recovery

Indian Premier League 2024: Pacer Rishabh Pant has revealed that he missed being around the team India during his recovery from the car accident before he returned to the upcoming IPL season.

Pant underwent a 14-month rehabilitation process as he was finally cleared by the BCCI to play for the Delhi Capitals in this tournament. The top wicketkeeper was a guest on the Club Prairie podcast, where he said how he missed the fun with his Indian teammates and the dressing room environment during his time away.

The Delhi Capitals captain also said while he is looking to make his international cricket return, he isn’t looking too far ahead.

“As a player you want to get back to international cricket. But at the same time, I don’t want to think about it too much. Looking at what is on my plate at the moment. I just try to keep it simple,” said Pant.

“One thing that I missed was being around the team. With the teammates, you have banter and funny moments. That kind of environment. That was something I missed,” said Pant.

Rishabh Pant revealed with confidence that he never doubted that the recovery from the car accident would take too much time for him and is hoping he can get better and better with each game.

“I always had that belief, no matter what, I have to start playing cricket again. I don’t know what capacity and what time frame. But at the same time, I knew I was going to be back and hopefully, I am going to do better and better each game,” said Pant.

The wicketkeeper also shared that he is having goosebumps while thinking about his return to competitive cricket, but at the same time, he is looking to not think about it a lot.

“When you’re sitting outside having all the fun. But on the field it is different. So yeah, I am a little nervous. But that’s part of the game. It’s part of the process. I am really excited because I don’t know how I am going to feel on the field, just have goosebumps thinking about it. But at the same time, not thinking about my return all the time, is part of my mind. But I am keeping it simple,” said Pant.
