'Why is the player sending wrong signals’, BCCI official inquiries harmed KL Rahul

‘Why is the player sending wrong signals’, BCCI official inquiries harmed KL Rahul: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) newly formed a few modifications to the Indian team for the remaining three Tests against England.

Initially, the team management had included KL Rahul in the team, but owing to his insufficient rehab from an injury, he was replaced by the forthcoming star at Rajkot. As per a BCCI release, Rahul was reportedly on the path to recovery and was 90% fit; yet, he was not considered for the third Test.

Report: ‘Why is the player sending wrong signals’, BCCI official inquiries harmed KL Rahul

“KL Rahul, whose availability for the remaining three Tests was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot. Mr. Rahul has reached 90 percent of match fitness and is progressing well under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team,” the BCCI stated in a press release.

With the current series tied at 1-1, Rahul will continue his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. It is hoped that he will be open for selection for the fourth and fifth Tests. While this conclusion is in line with the team management’s plan, it has not been well-received by some.

Why Posting Batting Stories on Social Media & Giving Wrong Signals, KL Rahul?

“KL Rahul hasn’t yet reported in Rajkot. Ravindra Jadeja, the local boy has linked up with the team. It was always a case of subject to fitness and the BCCI medical team is still not confident that he is match fit,” a senior BCCI head told PTI anonymously.

“If the BCCI’s medical team knew in the first place that Rahul’s quad injury was as serious as it looked, why in the first place was he kept in the provisional squad? And why is the player sending wrong signals by posting videos of his batting on Instagram stories,” a senior BCCI official questioned.

When KL Rahul was ruled out of the third Test between India and England, the officials of BCCI declared Rahul’s replacement for the forthcoming match.

Considering the unavailability of KL Rahul for the 3rd test match against England, the All India Men’s Selection Committee reported Devdutt Padikkal as his substitute for the third Test which is going to be held on February 15.
