Ms Dhoni’s former Chennai Super Kings teammate Ambati Rayudu on March 15 made a statement that MS Dhoni might utilize the impact player rule to delegate captaincy duties in this Indian Premier League 2024.

Previously also CSK handed over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja but he failed to handle it and the duties were again given to MS Dhoni.

Speaking to Star Sports “Pressroom”, he said about CSK and captaincy,

“With the impact player rule, he can take a back seat and promote someone to captain their side in the middle. So this year might be a transition year for CSK if it’s his last year, if he decides to play for a few more years, I think he would be the captain. I would personally like him to see as a captain.”

Rayudu also said that Dhoni is ready to play this IPL season 2024 in all the matches even though he was not fully fit.

Even during last season, he was playing with a very bad knee injury, so I don’t think anything will stop him from playing this full season.”

Dhoni’s team currently has five trophies in their hand if they also win this IPL 2024, they are going to win the sixth trophies which will be the first team in history with six IPL trophies.

Chennai Super Kings is going open the IPL season 2024 with Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22.
