CSK Coach Stephen Fleming Expects Dhoni To Play Whole Season: On Thursday, the news came out that MS Dhoni has stepped down from the captaincy and CSK replaced that place with Ruturaj Gaikwad.

But Chennai Super Kings Coach Stephen Fleming shared that he expects Dhoni to play the whole season of the 17th edition.

CSK Coach Stephen Fleming shares his opinion on Dhoni stepping down from the captaincy, by saying on the eve of IPL 2024, that he is expecting MS Dhoni to play the entire season.

These words came out from Fleming within a few minutes after declaring that Dhoni was out of CSK captaincy.

Speaking to the press in Chennai on Thursday, Stephen Fleming said that,

“Expecting MS(Dhoni) to play the whole season. His body is much better from last season.”

“I am expecting MS to play and play well. The indications from his pre-season are that he is doing well. The body is a lot better and stronger than last year with his knee and from what I can see, his desire to contribute and do well is as high as ever. It’s great for us,” he added.

Ruturaj Gaikwad also has experience in captaincy as he had the experience of leading Maharastra in the Domestic circuit. Chennai Super Kings confirmed in a statement on Thursday that MS Dhoni decided to hand over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad, kickstarting a transition period in the celebrated franchise.
