Big Blow for Rajasthan Royals! Adam Zampa Pulls Out of Tournament

A day before the commencement of the IPL 2024 season, Rajasthan Royals suffered a big blow as Australian spinner Adam Zampa pulled out of the tournament citing personal reasons.

RR had retained Zampa before going into the IPL 2024 auction for Rs 1.5 crore but his manager revealed that he would not take part in this edition of the cash-rich league, ESPNcricinfo reported.

The 31-year-old bowler had a tight schedule with his regular participation in Australia’s white-ball matches along with the Big Bash League. He was in action against India, West Indies and New Zealand after lifting the ODI World Cup 2023 title in India.

Despite having experienced R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal in the team, Zampa featured in 6 matches and clinched 8 wickets including 3-22 against CSK.

In 4 IPL seasons, he played 20 matches and took 29 wickets in the tournament. He has featured RCB and the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in his previous IPL appearance.

Adam Zampa is the second player to be ruled out of the entire season for RCB after Prasidh Krishna, who was pulled out due to a quadriceps surgery. The franchise has yet to name the replacements for the duo.
