Dhoni Promised To Francis Minz About His Son Robin Minz: Six-hitting wicketkeeper, and batsman, from Jharkhand Robin Minz was picked by the Gujarat Titans for Rs.3.6 Crore. He is the first Tribal person in cricket history.

In an interaction with Indian, Express, Robin Minz’s father Francis Minz said that Dhoni had made a promise to us in the airport that no one pick Robin into their franchise that he will pick him.

Robin Minz is 21 Years Old and Robin Minz’s family roots are from Telgoan Village, which comes under Gumla District in Jharkhand. The Father of Robin Minz is Francis Minz and he is a retired army who now works for a security agency as a security guard at Ranchi Airport.

In the interaction with Indian Express, Minz’s father Francis has revealed the promise made by Dhoni that he would grab his son if no one does it in the Auction of IPL 2024.

“I had met Dhoni at the airport recently. He told me Francisji koi nahi lega toh hum le lenge. (If no one picks him, we will),” he said.

As he said before about CISF jawan he also shared that story with Indian Express,

“A CISF jawan came to me, hugged me saying, ‘Arrey Francis sir, aap toh crorepati ban gaye’ (You have become a millionaire).”

Also, Robins’s training was done at Sonnet Cricket Club in Ranchi, his coach Asif says that,

“We call him Ranchi ka Gayle. He is left-handed, well-built, and hits big sixes. A new-age cricketer, who loves to take on the bowlers from ball one, believes in batting at a strike rate of 200.”

Robin Minz took the guidance of Chanchal Bhattacharya who was the coach for Dhoni in Childhood, said,

“When Mahi made his India debut, there was only one cricket academy in Ranchi. Now there are 15. I am not exaggerating in saying that in Ranchi, wicket-keeping gloves are more in demand plus young cricketers like to have long hair.”
