Hafeez Criticizes Australia for Pakistan's Warm-Up Game Pitch

Hafeez Criticizes Australia for Pakistan’s Warm-Up Game Pitch: As Pakistan is going to play a test series against Australia, the Pakistan Team has played a Warm-up game with Australia against a Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, as visitors are already in the country.

And coming to this test series against Australia is going to start on December 14.

Pakistan did not give a good output individually, but as a captain, Shan Masood scored 201 out of 298 balls. But the Pakistan team director is not at all happy with the pitch, that was arranged for the warm-up game in Canberra.

Speaking to the Reporter at WACA, Hafeez said,

“That was the slowest pitch a visiting team could ever play on in Australia, as a team we are really happy with our preparations because we ticked most of the boxes.”

And also added, “Everyone knew [the pitch wasn’t what we wanted], so there was no point of saying it again and again and raising the issue with Cricket Australia. The disappointment was high because we weren’t expecting these kinds of arrangements.

Maybe it’s tactical but we’re ready for it. We’re not using it as an excuse, we’re ready for the challenges coming up.”

The match that they played as a trial, ended up with a draw between Pakistan and Australia. This PM XI has limited overs in the Australian captain city. Pakistan played 116.2 overs and scored 391 runs for 9, and as it is a slow surface they toiled for 141 overs.

Hafeez also said that he was not disappointed with the Canberra surface as an excuse, and he has given well wishes to the team.

“This Test team is very settled. They’ve all done a great job for Pakistan cricket. Everyone is excited to take on the challenge. Performing in Australia would be great for them. We are here to beat Australia, not just to compete.”

“As a team, we believe we have great talent within the team who can win in Australia. The guys are hungry to perform in Australia. They wanted to take that excitement and challenge in the right spirit. The message the team conveyed is they want to beat Australia this time.”
