The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni said goodbye to international cricket in 2020 but continues to play the Indian Premier League for Chennai Super Kings franchise.

CSK captain for IPL 2024 has continued to defy expectations and led the team to their 5th IPL title last year. Many people had expected that the 2023 IPL campaign would be the last season in the cash-rich league, and the CSK’s title win gave him a chance to sign another season.

The CSK skipper vowed to try his best for another season in gratitude for the support fans showed him and is set to lead the yellow outfit again in 2024.

At a recent event, a fan asked Dhoni about his retirement plans. He was quick to point out that he is still an active player in the IPL. He admitted that he has not thought about his plans for life after cricket but revealed his wish to spend more time with the Indian army.

“I have never thought about it. I am still playing cricket. IPL I am still playing. It will be very interesting to see what I end up doing after cricket. I think for sure, I want to spend a bit more time with the Army because last few years I have not been able to do that,” said Dhoni.

The 42-year-old cricketer announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020. He is the most successful captain in the history of the IPL, having won the title 5 times. Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army. He is also a qualified paratrooper.
