Punjab Kings equal Mumbai Indians record for most successive wins against CSK in IPL

Punjab Kings equalled Mumbai Indians record of 5 straight wins over Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). PBKS achieved this feat after a 7-wicket win against CSK on Wednesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The five-match winning streak of Punjab started in the IPL 2021 season and is still going on strong. Earlier, MI registered the most successive wins between the 2018 and 2019 seasons of the T20 tournament.

Punjab are the only team after Mumbai to have this kind of run over Chennai. MI had a period of domination over CSK between the years 2018 and 2019 where they had won 5 straight games against the MS Dhoni-led Chennai. Now, Punjab have maintained their winning streak against CSK since 7 October 2021.

Punjab Kings kept their playoff hopes alive with a comprehensive 7-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk and extended their winning streak against the Mumbai Indians.

Chennai were put into bat by Punjab and it seemed like they had the ideal start in the powerplay overs. RuturajGaikward and Ajinkya Rahane would put on 55 runs in the initial 6 overs and it seemed we could be in for a big total.
