Pollard Opines that Bumrah Needs To Take Rest Before T20 World Cup 2024: The T20 World Cup 2024 is nearer and everyone is eagerly waiting for that to start. It is going to start on June 1 in the West Indies and the USA.

In the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah is also one, and he is continuously playing IPL 2024 matches for MI. Keeping this in mind MI batting Coach Pollard hints that the team might not rest Jasprit Bumrah ahead of T20 World Cup 2024.

Mumbai Indian’s last IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants is on May 17.  And complete IPL is going to finish on May 26 and immediately on June 1, the T20 World Cup is going to start.

So, for all the Indian players there is no long time to take rest. But some of the fans on social media are hoping the main players in the T20 World Cup to take a rest.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, after their win against SRH, MI Coach Pollard said about T20 World Cup that,

“I certainly haven’t had any discussions about that,” Pollard told media when he was asked to rest Bumrah from MI’s remaining two matches keeping in mind the upcoming T20 World Cup.

He also further added that,

“I don’t think that’s my role and function at this point. But let’s see what happens. We are all here to play an entire IPL. Sometimes when we think too far ahead of different things, thinking about World Cups, all these things could affect performances even from before the team was selected.”

“For us and in our camp, the most important thing is finishing off the IPL, and let’s see what happens after that. When he leaves the IPL and he goes into the Indian team, I think that’s where that concession will take place.”

Coming to the match, the win helped MI end its four-match losing streak and record only its fourth win in 12 matches. If MI does not qualify, Bumrah will have a week before the team flies out to the USA.

Because of his stress fracture on his back, Bumrah took a very long break, and due to that, he missed the 2022 World Cup in Australia.
