Trott says Afghanistan is yet to play its best game: Afghanistan team is giving their best and updated into Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024, and everyone in the team is very happy and excited.

Trott hailed his team’s performance and said that they are yet to play their best game.

Recently, Afghanistan won the match against PNG by 7 wickets and successfully secured a place in Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 as they won 3 times.

Trott while speaking about his performance in Afghanistan, lauded Afghanistan as a very talented team and exuded confidence while saying that they would look to beat the best teams moving forward.

In a post-match press conference, Trott said,

“We still have one game left, an important group game against the powerful West Indies side, who won an incredible game (vs New Zealand) last night from the position they were in.

It’s nice to have won tonight and got a qualification. To come to a World Cup and win three is a nice feeling, but also the realization of the reality that we haven’t won anything yet. We have got some important cricket matches coming up in which we have to play well.”

“I believe we are very talented and when we play our best cricket, we can take on anyone. We have seen that. I feel that we still haven’t played our best game and there are things we still need to work on.

We will be working on those over the next few days to give ourselves the best chance to beat the major teams,” he added.

Afghanistan will face West Indies in the last group-stage encounter on June 18, Tuesday in St. Lucia
