ICC World Cup 2023 Award Winners List: Virat Kohli Wins the Man of the Tournament Title for Dream Run Rate

Australia won their 10th ICC One Day International World Cup 2023 title as they defeated India on Sunday, November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The stadium was filled with the blue army, and they lost the final World Cup, India went silent for a few minutes.

Indian star batter Virat Kohli has been awarded the “player of the tournament title” in the ICC World Cup 2023 for his extraordinary performance that helped India to win their consecutive matches. Kohli scored a total of 765 runs in 11 innings. It is the highest-ever run scored by a batter in a single edition of the World Cup. Finally, he averaged 95.62 and ended up with a strike rate of 90.3.

This World Cup 2023 tournament will remain special for Virat Kohli as he broke the record of Indian cricket legendary Sachin Tendulkar by hitting his 50th ODI century. Earlier Tendulkar held a record of most ODI centuries at 49.

Despite winning the Man of the Tournament award, Kohli was seen disappointed as India lost their World Cup title. In the World Cup 2023 Finale match, Australia ended India’s unbeaten streak in the tournament and scored a 6-wicket victory to win the title. This is the 6th time Australia has won the ODI World Cup title in cricket history.

In yesterday’s match, Kohli and KL Rahul made fifties to help India score 240 runs while batting first. But India lost the game with Australia. Mohammed Shami a leading contender for the Player of the Tournament award has failed to make an impact on the final game. His one wicket helped him top the bowling chart with 24 wickets in just 7 innings.
