Virat Kohli Has Been Felicitated For Becoming 12th Indian To Play 100 Test Matches: Kohli has come a decade-long way in his cricket journey, achieving many milestones. Exactly on this day, in 2022 Virat Kohli created history at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali by becoming the 12th Indian to play 100 test matches.

Till now Kohli played 113 tests. And now Great all-rounder, R Ashwin is on his way to the verge of the 100 tests.

Many people in cricket have made many milestones, but playing 100 tests was made by some legends. In that first person is Sunil Gavaskar, who finished 125 matches.

Then Sachin Tendulkar finished 200 test matches and wrote his name in a world record. And the names go on and Kohli is the 75th Player and 12th Indian to complete these 100 test matches.

Kohli in a video posted by BCCI, said that,

“I honestly never thought I would play 100 Test matches. It has been a long journey. We played a lot of cricket over the course of playing those 100 Test matches.”

“A lot of international cricket. I am just grateful that I’ve been able to make it to 100.”

Dravid also said to Kohli on that day, “It’s well deserved, it’s well earned, and as we say in the dressing room, double it up.”

In 113 Tests, Kohli has scored 8848 runs at an average of 49.15 and a strike-rate of 55.56 with 29 hundreds and 30 fifties to show for his efforts.

On that Kohli said that, “It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to the BCCI as well.”
