Afghanistan’s Najibullah Sets His IPL Goals Clear: As in the recent World Cup 2023, Afghanistan has etched an unforgettable chapter in Afghanistan’s cricketing history. In the World Cup, Afghanistan won the matches against England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands.

With this Afghanistan secured the highest number of wins by Afghanistan team in a single World Cup campaign. Even though there are many memorable encounters in cricket history, the one match against Australia had stepped out from the World Cup.

Where Glenn Maxwell had made 201 runs and made Australia win. In the ODI World Cup Najibullah has been sidelined on Afghanistan’s historic campaign. But he contributed to making his team’s cohesion, resilience, and factors online.

As presently, Afghanistan Star Najibullah is currently showcasing his skills in the T10 League in Abu Dubai. In a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, he had discussed a roller coaster of emotions, that they went through in the dressing room of the ODI World Cup.

He said to Hindustan Times that,

“Yes, we are pretty hurt. The match was completely in our hands. It was just a matter of a single wicket. The way Maxi (Maxwell) played… it was unbelievable. I have never seen something like that.”

“The way he battled injury and smashed a double century, and that too, against a world-class bowling lineup – We had Rashid, Nabi, and everyone else – We could have had a very easy chance at World Cup semi-final qualification if we had won the match against Australia.”

“To be honest, we did try everything. We bowled outside the off-stump, and he hit them. We bowled in the middle, he hit them as well. It was his day. He hit everything.”

Even though everyone was sad on that day, it was part of the game that no one can change. We are happy as we have given our 100% effort to play the game.

Hindustan Times asked Najibullah as the Auction is near, if he had a choice of selecting the team, team he would like to play with, for he said,

“Every player dreams of playing in the IPL. So is mine. I want to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli hasn’t won the IPL, and hopefully, this time, we win it.”
