IPL: Chennai Super Kings respond to reports of approaching Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma

Rumours are spreading in the social media that the CSK (Chennai Super Kings) have entered into the trade negotiation with MI (Mumbai Indians) ahead of the IPL 2024 season. The rmours are stopped after the CSK official team reacted on the trade rumour. CSK CEO Kali Viswanath said that they don’t like to trade players as a matter of team principle and neither do they intend to do so,

Viswanath’s decision comesout after there were several reports which suggested a feeling of unrest within the MI camp post Hardik Pandya’s appointment as captain. Reports have claimed that the move had led a few players look for different franchises. There were claims made taht CSK has approached MI for a trade. However, Viswanathan rejected the proposition.

“We don’t trade players as a principle and we also don’t have players to trade with Mumbai Indians. We have not approached them and we don’t intend to either,” he said during the IPL auction as quoted by Cricbuzz.

MS Dhoni to Captain CSK in IPL 2024

Even though MI removed their 5 time IPL trophy winning captain and look for a transition within the team, CSK have only retained their captain who is already 42 but will stick with him as the captain for another season.

“We have had succession plans for MS for about 10 years,” CSK coach Stephen Fleming said.

“It is going to be a talking point., but he is as engaged and as enthusiastic as I have seen him for a while. While that passion is there for the team and franchise, we’ll roll on,” the ex-New Zealand captain, who was there at the IPL Auction 2024 in Dubai, answered in response to a question posed by a reporter.
