Gautham Ghambir Urges BJP Chief to Relieve Him From Political Duties: Former Indian Cricketer Gautham Ghambir has requested BJP chief JP Nadda to relieve him from politics to concentrate on the upcoming Cricket commitments.
And he took to Twitter to announce this news to his followers and supporters. Presently, he wants to concentrate on IPL 2024.
‘Relieve me of my political duties’: Gautam Gambhir
Gautham Ghambir joined the Bharatiya Janatha Party in 2019, and from then it has become a prominent face of the party in New Delhi. He contested and won the East Delhi seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a margin of 6,95,109 votes.
He wanted to step away from politics to focus on the commitments that he had in Cricket. In IPL 2024, he wants to begin his tenure in cricket by being a mentor for KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders).

Taking to social media, he wrote on the X(formerly Twitter) that to announce to his fans and supporters,
“I have requested Hon’ble Party President JP Nadda ji to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my upcoming cricket commitments. I sincerely thank Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi for allowing me to serve the people. Jai Hind.”

In 2022, and 2023 Gautham Ghambir was the mentor for Lucknow Super Giants in the first two seasons of IPL. Also in 122 matches, he led the team as captain from 2011 to 2017. He won 2 titles while he was leading the team, and remains one of the most successful captains in the IPL history.
On Saturday, he requested a party to relieve him from the party. IPL 2024 is going to begin on March 22, 2024.
