Indian squad for T20I World Cup 2024 To Be Announced on May 2024: Report
Team India will be waiting for their first ICC trophy since 2013 when they take part in T20I World Cup 2024. The highly-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to take place from 2nd June 2024 in the Caribbean and the USA.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India will announce the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup after the IPL as the last date of announcement is May 1. The opener clash will be between hosts USA and Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
The 20-team competition is scheduled to be from June 2 to 29. The 20 teams have to be divided into 4 groups of five teams each. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will clash to qualify for the Super Eight stage.
No team has announced its squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 so far. According to the report in Sports Tak, the ICC has set May 1 as the deadline for the squad announcement. The teams, however, will be allowed to make changes to their squad till May 25.
Any modifications to the squad after May 25 will have to be approved by the ICC Technical Committee. The report also added the teams will also have the option of playing two warm-up games based on their arrival to the World Cup.

Earlier this month, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that Rohit Sharma is set to lead Team India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“We may have lost the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup. But we won hearts thereby winning 10 matches in a row. I am confident that India will lift the 2024 T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy at Barbados,” Jay Shah said during the unveiling of the Niranjan Shah Stadium.

Team India is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and the USA. They have to clash with Ireland on June 5 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9. The detailed schedule is here:
