Hardik Pandya Got Fined Rs.24 Lakhs By BCCI For Slow Over Rate

Hardik Pandya Got Fined Rs.24 Lakhs By BCCI For Slow Over Rate: Another shocking news for the MI team in this IPL 2024!! All the MI players and Hardik Pandya were fined Rs.24 Lakhs by BCCI for slow over rate for breaching the IPL code of conduct. Presently, Hardik is struggling as a captain as he is getting booed by fans and they are not winning any matches.

Now again this issue was salt in the wounds for the MI team. Mumbai Indians faced this issue during the match on Tuesday. Look into the below article for a more detailed view.

MI Skipper and Other MI Players Were Faced Slow Over Rate Penalties For Breaching The IPL Code of Conduct

On April 30, Tuesday, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians locked their horns against each other at the Ekana Stadium. And LSG was defeated by MI with four four-wicket losses. Adding insult to this injury, MI skipper Hardik Pandya was fined Rs. 24 Lakhs for slow over-rate, an IPL code of conduct.

All the MI players also faced penalties as this is MI’s second offense of the season. This was MI’s 7th defeat as they have played overall ten games till now in this IPL season 2024.

According to the statement that was given by BCCI was,

“Mr Hardik Pandya, Captain, Mumbai Indians has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 48 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 30, 2024.”

Not just the captain the entire team got punished for the offence done for the second time in this IPL 2024 season.

BCCI also added saying that,

“As it was his team’s second offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offenses, Pandya was fined INR 24 Lac. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 6 Lac or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.”

The Mumbai franchise got punished heavily in this IPL season for making the offense repeatedly. The first time, when MI played with PBK, Hardik got fined Rs.12 Lakhs for slow over-rate.

Hardik Pandya speaking in the post-match presentation said that,

“I think losing early wickets is tough to recover from and that’s why we couldn’t do it (recover) today.”

Also, he added that,

“You still have to see the ball and hit. We just missed those balls and got out, that has been the kind of season we have had so far. I have always believed that you will be up and you’ll be up, it just that you have to give it your all.

A lot of things to learn from this game. It has been fantastic. I think he (Nehal Wadhera) did last year as well, he couldn’t get opportunities earlier (in the tournament) but he will play a lot of IPL and (represent) India eventually.”

Presently Mi franchise is in ninth position on the points table. And this franchise will next face KKR on May 3 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
