ICC Rankings R Ashwin stays as No 1 Test bowler, Jasprit Bumrah moves to 4th

In the recent ICC Test rankings, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin retained his first position in the Men’s Test Bowling Rankings with 853 rating points after a six-wicket haul in the opening Test between India and England in Hyderabad.

Additionally, Jasprit Bumrah who also secured 6 wickets in the same match, moved to the fourth position in the ranking table with 825 points. Along with these players, West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph and England spinner Tom Hartley also made significant strides in the latest ICC Test Rankings with their stellar match-winning performances for their teams.

Another Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja secured the 6th place in the bowling chart, In all-rounder rankings, Jadeja is leading with a comfortable margin.

England’s Joe Root who is known for his extraordinary batting prowess demonstrated his spin skills by taking five wickets in the Hyderabad Test. This performance elevated him to a new career-high rating in the Test all-rounder’s list, placing him at the 4th place.

Star batter Virat Kohli is the lone Indian in the top 10 batters list, securing sixth place. Ollie Pope, who scored a magnificent 16 against India, climbed 20 places to the 15th position.

Pope stunned India with a magnificent 196 in the second innings of England’s thrilling 28-run triumph in the opening Test of the ICC World Test Championship series in Hyderabad.

It was Pope’s highest Test score away from home and the 4th highest individual innings by an England player in a Test in India and the in-form right-hander made a big jump up the rankings as a result. Pope’s teammate Ben Duckett also moved to 22nd after his performances.

Australia’s Usman Khawaja moved up to the 8th place after his half-century in the second Test against the West Indies. West Indies quicks Kemar Roach, Alzarri Joseph, and Shamar Joseph also improved their ranking after a match against Australia.

Indian batters KL Rahul and Yashaswi Jaiswal have made upward movement in the latest ICC Test rankings. KL Rahul secured 51st position, while Yashasvi secured 66th place after scoring 86 and 80 respectively.
