MS Dhoni files case against ex business partners for financial fraud

Legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni has filed a case against his ex-business partners Mihir Diwakat and Sowmya Vishwash of Aarka Sports and Management Limited on January 5 at the Ranchi court. Dhoni filed a lawsuit against them for financial fraud of over Rs 15 crore.

As per the reports, the duo signed an agreement with Dhoni in 2017 to establish a global cricket academy. However, the management failed to adhere to the stipulated conditions as Dhoni decided to discard the agreement in 2021.
Aarka Sports and Management Limited is obligated to pay a franchise fee and share profits as per the agreements they have made.

Meanwhile, Dayanand Singh has represented Dhoni through Vidhi Associates who stated that they were deceived and cheated by Aarka Sports, and have sued the financial firm for a fraud of over INR 15 crore.

Recently, the BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla has confirmed that the Indian cricket board has decided to retire MS Dhoni’s No.7 jersey. The BCCI decided to honour the 2011 ODI World Cup-winning captain’s contribution to Indian cricket.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni unveiled his retirement from international cricket in 2020 as he last played for India in 2019 in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. Since, his retirement, no one has worn the No. 7 jersey since then.

“He is a legendary player. His contribution to Indian as well as world cricket is immense. To honour his contribution, the BCCI has decided to retire number seven,” Shukla told PTI.

Dhoni is going to lead CSK for the upcoming IPL season. He announced retirement from the mega tournament as he is suffering with a knee injury and also underwent surgery after winning the 5th IPK title.
