Rohit Sharma’s Heartwarming Gesture for Indore Traffic Police Goes Viral

Team India captain Rohit Sharma’s heartfelt gesture, an autographed note for an Indore traffic police Ranjeet Singh has gone viral on social media.

Ranjeet Singh was popular for his moonwalking dance steps while managing traffic, police had met Rohit earlier and requested his autograph but were unable to get it because of his duties.

This time, Rohit just didn’t remember the encounter but made a special effort to express his appreciation for Ranjeet. In a heartwarming gesture that captured the hearts of many people on social media, Rohit penned down his autograph along with a sweet message, entrusting it with the team bus driver to ensure it reached Ranjeet.

Traffic police Ranjeet Singh took to Facebook to express his gratitude, lauding humility, saying that a player’s greatness is not just defined by their sportsmanship but by their compassionate thinking as well.

“When the Indian team came to Indore for the last time, I met India’s captain Rohit Sharma ji. I asked him for his autograph but I could not take him due to duty, but the captain remembered this. This time while going he gave this autograph and his love towards me in more words and gave it to driver sir and told him to give this crazy man Ranjeet,” Ranjeet wrote on Instagram.

On the autograph paper, Rohit wrote, “Love your energy wish you a lot of success.” This thoughtful act has gone viral on social media. His return to T20Is after the 2022 T20 World Cup hasn’t unfolded as expected on the field.

India won the second T20I against Afghanistan comfortably by 6 wickets at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday and took the lead in the three-match series. After the match in Indore, Rohit Sharma won the hearts of cricketing fans across the country.

He signed an autograph for the local traffic police officer, Ranjeet Singh, who is known for his interesting ways of controlling traffic on the road and praised him for his efforts during duty.

Though India won against Afghanistan, Rohit had outings to forget with the bat post his return to the shortest format of the game after more than a year. In both the innings, he was dismissed for a duck and has only faced a total of 3 balls in the series.

In the first match at the Punjab Cricket Association in Mohali, Rohit was involved in an ugly mix-up with Shubman Gill and was run out.
Thus Rohit failed to score a single run in the first T20I. In the second game at the Holkar Stadium, Rohit was dismissed for a golden duck and was sent packing by Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi.

India will lock horns against Afghanistan in the final T20I that will held on Wednesday and fans hope that the Indian skipper goes all guns blazing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
