Ruturaj Gaikwad Shocking Comments on MS Dhoni Captaincy Exit: On Thursday, Chennai Super Kings surprised their fans by revealing the shocking news that Dhoni was stepping out of CSK from his captaincy and Ruturaj will be their new captain.

On this Rutiraj revealed that MS Dhoni has hinted to him about handing over the Chennai Super Kings captaincy responsibilities last year itself.

Everyone is happy that the IPL is going to start on March 22, but suddenly MS Dhoni shocked their fans by revealing the new skipper as Ruturaj for Chennai Super Kings.

Just a day before the Indian Premier League, CSK announced about this news out. And Ruturaj said that he had given a hint about the responsibilities of captaincy last year.

Ruturaj said in a video that was posted by IPL that, he already knew that this was going to happen.

“Last year itself, Mahi bhai had hinted about captaincy at some point in time. Just hinted by saying to be ready, it should not come as a surprise. When we came into the camp, he made me involved in some of the practice match simulations.

I remember him posting about the new role on social media. Everybody was pointing towards me and asking if he (Ruturaj) was the new captain.”

He also said that,

“I was like, maybe it meant something else on social media. Back of the mind, it was there. Now that I am here, I am looking forward to it.”

Ruturaj said that he met the Royal Challengers Bangalore captain who rubbed shoulders with each other in CSK and are now going to lock horns against each other.

“I met Faf and told him, a few years ago who would’ve thought you would’ve been playing for RCB, you and me sharing the stage at the toss. A lot to look forward to. It is one of the most exciting first-day games to look forward to.”

Gaikwad concluded by saying that,

“To be trusted by MS Dhoni for a leadership role speaks a lot. Right from Day 1, I liked how this franchise has worked throughout the years. I got to know the real mantra behind success, the kind of things this franchise and Mahi bhai go through. I wouldn’t like to change a single bit of it.

That’s a great backbone to have him on the team. I have Ajju bhai (Ajinkya Rahane) as well, as Jaddu bhai (Ravindra Jadeja) as well. A lot of options to look around.

“I don’t think I need to change anything. Just give the kind of freedom the players want and everything will be fine.”
