T20I Report: Ashish Nehra Declined to Take the Place of India Coach in T20I

Ashish Nehra Refuses to Take the Place of India Coach in T20I: After the start of the T20I series, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket) approached Ashish Nehra to take the position of coach for India in T20I on the completion of Rahul Dravid tenure.

But Ashish Nehra has rejected the proposal of BCCI to take the place of India’s head coach.

Has Ashish Refused the India Head Coach Position?

As everyone knows India’s head coach was Rahul Dravid, but many of them do not know that he came only for a 2-year tenure and it was completed this year after the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

In the 2021 World Cup, Dravid took over the place of Head coach for India from Ravi Shastri. So, as Dravid was unlikely to continue as head coach BCCI approached another best coach Ashish Nehra to occupy the position of India Coach.

However according to the reports, that was known Ashish Nehra had refused to take the place of India’s coach, so BCCI again asked Rahul Dravid to continue as the head coach.

BCCI asked Ashish Nehra to ba as a coach to lead the Indian team because he has a successful coaching Tenure with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL (Indian Premier League as he had guided the team to the championship. And even in the next season, they stood in second place.

As he is leading his team well towards the goal BCCI targets it would be perfect if he selects them as the head coach for India. Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors, and also the India skipper Rohit Sharma both need Rahul to continue as India’s head coach, until the coming T20 World Cup.

If he agress to continue as an India head coach then the continuity of staff will be ensured.
