A recent controversial topic is Mathews’s “Timed Out” Dismissal. Mathews was the first player in history who was ruled out of the match due to ” Timed Out” Dismissal.

When Mathews was playing against Bangladesh, he came to the crease late due to the broken of his helmet strap, and Shakib appealed a “Timed Out” rule to rule out Mathews.

Speaking about this topic on Social media by Ashwin on Friday, he declared, that in this situation, Mathews has a right to be disappointed and Shakib has the right to appeal.

“One side is talking about the rules and another side is talking about the spirit of cricket. When Mathews came out to bat, his helmet was not okay, and he wanted to change that. I saw another video where Shakib did not bring his guard against Sri Lanka and he was allowed to bring it later. It has almost become warfare between these two countries”. 

He also added, “Actually with timed-out, yes Shakib appealed and the umpire gave it out, agreed. Recently, there has been information that Mathews was already warned by the umpires about the timed-out dismissal. But Mathews was really upset that he got out, and rightly so. No one should get out like that, everyone will feel bad about that”.

Later Ashwin revealed that he might be in timed-out dismissal too, when the match held between Australia and India, Ashwin went to a crease a bit late and the umpire told him about that and said that he could have been given “Timed Out” if the Australian team has appealed.

Finally, by concluding he said, “Both Angelo Mathews and Shakib Al Hasan were right. One person knew the rule and the other person asked if he could let it go since it was a helmet malfunction. The affected party is certainly the one who got out”.
