BCCI Honoured Sunil Gavaskar on the Anniversary of Trailblazing Test Milestone

BCCI Honoured Sunil Gavaskar on the Anniversary of Trailblazing Test Milestone: On March 7, BCCI honored Legendary Indian Batter as on this day back in 1987, Sunil Gavaskar reached the 10000 runs milestone in tests. He is the first Indian who has reached that milestone.

Remembering that day, BCCI celebrated with a cake in the BCCI commentary room.

Sunil Gavaskar is presently working as a commentator on the Board of Cricket Control in India. And on the Anniversary of the Trailblazing Test Milestone BCCI was honored with a cake in the Commentary room, during lunch on Day 1, of India’s fifth final test.

Look at the video that was released by BCCI which was going viral, in which Sunil Gavaskar cut the cake on the Anniversary of Trailblazing Test Milestone.

Speaking on this occasion after cutting the cake, he said

“This is terrific. I want to thank the BCCI for remembering this day. This is a memorable day for me, getting to the 10,000-run mark on the 7th of March.

Also apparently, when I came in the commentary box today, Mohan Das Memon told me that this was also the day that I got my first half-century in Test cricket. So, terrific from the BCCI to remember this.”

“Also on a day that Ashwin plays his 100th Test. It’s a special day for Indian cricket, not just for me or Ashwin. I just hope that we end this Test match with another win,” he also added. 

In 1983 World Cup winner amassed 10,122 runs in 125 Test matches for India, averaging 51.12 while smashing 45 fifties and 34 hundreds. After him, Sachin and Dravid became the highest run scorer in Indian cricket tests by crossing him.

Till now in a total of four test matches, India has in leading by winning 3 matches continuously. Hope for the best in this test match too. Anyhow India already won the five-match test series against England.
