Hitman Rohit Sharma Turns 37: Cricket Fraternity Extended Wishes to Indian Skipper

While all the cricket fans are waiting for the BCCI’s announcement of the 15-member Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma celebrated his birthday. The Mumbai Indians star batter Rohit turned 37 on Tuesday.

With Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants playing on the same day, at the Ekana Stadium, the celebrations have been kept simple till now.

However, MI wants to win the game to give Rohit a perfect birthday gift. Although Rohit began his birthday celebrations at midnight along with his wife Ritika and a few teammates, social media has been flooded with congratulatory messages for the former MI skipper.

Rohit, who is widely hailed as one of the best of his generation, continues to be a star batter for India, particularly in white-ball cricket. The right-handed 37-year-old batter entertained and mesmerised audiences worldwide with his classy strokeplay.

Mumbai Indians franchise also wished Rohit and all his fans a ‘Hitman Day’.

Meanwhile, Rohit has no plans for retirement anytime soon despite his age. “I haven’t thought about retirement. But, I don’t know where life takes you. I am still playing well at this point – so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don’t know. I want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully, India makes it,” the Indian skipper said on the ‘Breakfast With Champions’ show.
