India Star’s Odd Appeal To Umpire For Chill Conditions in Mohali: First match in T20I series against Afghanistan for India has been successfully completed in Mohali.

But before starting of the game, we have noticed that, players practiced in the cool weather which is 13 degree celcius and even at the time of the game, at 7Pm, the weather is 7 degree celcius in Mohali.

So, India’s spinner Axar patel has requested the umpire to wear a glove on one hand, while bowling to tackle the single digit temperature in Mohali.

‘Unhone Mana Kar Diya…’: Axar Patel Appealed to Umpire On Cold Weather

India defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets and 7runs, in the chilled weather conditions in Mohali that is also in just 17.3 overs. In this three match T20I series there is a score for IND vs AFG is 1-0.

India has won the match by battling with the chilled weather condition which is the temperature decreased to single digit. Most of the players ready to face the match by coming in full sleeves.

Even skipper Rohit Sharma said that he had never experienced this cold. However, Axar said that, due to chill weather conditions hisjob was difficult.

And he had appealed to umpire to wear a gloves on one hand to reduce the cold. But his idea didn’t workout as the Umpire did not allowed to do it.

During the mid innings Axar said that,

“I wasn’t feeling the ball, it was very cold. We knew it was winter and would be cold, but I was only thinking about my bowling, how to put pressure on them. There was a lot of dew, but I focused on my accuracy.”

“I had asked the umpire if I can wear glove in one hand, but he said no (Maine umpire se poocha tha ki main ek haanth me gloves pehen ke bowling kar lun, lekin unhone mana kar diya),” further added by Axar.

In the post press conference, he said that he has given his best and even we can see that in his game.

“Right now, I want to focus on the IPL, and then we also have a Test series against England coming up soon,” he added. 

Anyhow, both  the teams, like India and Afghanistan has faced problems, throughout the match due to chilled weather.

Axar Shared About His Post Injury In Post Match Press Conference

And even in the post match press conference, he also shared about his post injury in september.

“It was an unfortunate injury, but it was not the first time I was injured. My mindset during the rehab is how I can improve my game. In the NCA, I worked a lot on my bowling.

I have worked consciously to add 5 to 10 percent in my bowling. Against Australia, I have started varying my pace and started using the crease.

As a left-arm spinner, you don’t have much variation, I can’t bowl googlies like a leg-spinner. I am not thinking about the economy anymore. My mindset is how can I attack more.

I have got the confidence… more about taking wickets than bowling economically,”
