Kamran Akmal copies Irfan Pathan's dance as India lose World Cup 2023 final

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has taunted India after their defeat against Australia in the World Cup 2023 final. Team India’s dream in the competition concluded heartbreakingly. India was dominant in the competition and beat every team easily. They were the only unbeaten team in the competition before the final.

Everything was falling into place for Men in Blue before the final where Australia stunned them by 6 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Australia won their sixth World Cup title.

Initially, Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. India hit 240 runs in total despite half-centuries from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Mitchell Starc picked up 3 wickets while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets each.

Australia were off to a disastrous start. They were reeling at 47 for 3 after losing the David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, and David Warner cheaply wickets. However, a stunning century from Travis Head and a half-century from Marnus Labuschagne helped Australia to chase down the total in 43 overs. Head scored 137 off 120 balls while Labuschagne scored 58 off 110 balls.

Kamra Akmal Taunts Team India After India’s Loss in Finals

Kamran Akmal looked celebrated mood after Team India’s loss in the final. He began the celebrations by copying Irfan Pathan’s famous dance steps. Pathan had danced with the Afghan players on the field after Afghanistan’s historic win over Pakistan during the league stage of the World Cup.

Pathan’s gesture didn’t go well with many in Pakistan including Kamran Akmal. He had criticized the Indian all-rounder for dancing on live TV.

“I was surprised at the Irfan Pathan dance,” Kamran Akmal told Ary News. “I remember India beating Pakistan in Australia; even then, this kind of happiness wasn’t seen. But there seems to be greater joy in Afghanistan defeating Pakistan. It was sad to see—not just for me but for the nation. The broadcasters should think about this neutral commentators shouldn’t do this.”
